AN ANCIENT AND MODERN HERITAGE
With its Mediterranean climate and small rivers, Lattes is much more than just a small town in the Occitan region. It is a town rich in heritage. The history of Lattes dates back to ancient times.
To discover the town’s history, you can visit the Henri-Pradès archaeological museum. Continue your visit by discovering the Romanesque church of Saint Laurent built at the end of the XIIth century.
Change of scenery in the magnificent Port-Ariane district. With its modern architectural style, the marina is the ideal place to stroll along the sunny terraces of Lattes.
NATURE SITES
The richness of Lattes also lies in its natural environment.
With their 7,500 hectares, the Palavas lagoons are an exceptional wetland area. They are a key stop-off point for many migratory birds.
To discover flamingos, coypu and a whole host of wild species in their natural environment, head to Méjean lagoon. This protected natural site can be visited on foot, by bike or on horseback. Before your walk, stop off at the Maison de la Nature. Its guides will be delighted to help you discover the region, combining nature, ecology and Camargue traditions.
